Hello,
I am Britton!
I am a Dallas-based therapist specializing in young women's issues. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, relationships, and major life transitions, such as college, career, and relationship milestones.
I give women the tools they need to manage and reduce anxiety, cultivate healthy relationships, and set attainable goals.
I am so glad you are here!
About You
Let’s talk about you for a second. You are probably a hardworking, high achieving, people-pleasing, perfectionist. Outwardly, you have it all together. You’ve got the grades, the career, the relationship, and you are really, really good at hiding your inner world. So much so, that even the people closest to you might be surprised to know what really goes on inside your head. Maybe you find yourself ruminating on a past experience or current situation and it’s hard to shut the thoughts down. You worry about the future and predict all the ways things could go wrong, then stay hypervigilant to potential threats around you. Your self-esteem is low, or maybe non existent, and you would like to find a way to feel good in your own skin. You know you need to set some boundaries, but don’t know how to advocate for yourself without fear of upsetting others. Bottom line is, the way you are doing things is not working for you, and you are ready to make some changes!
About Me
I am Britton - founder, owner, and therapist at Britton Elliott Therapy. I absolutely love being a therapist. My road here began many years ago when I started therapy myself. Therapy was (and still is) life changing for me. Learning that I could do something about the way I felt gave me the hope and empowerment that I had lost. Therapy taught me how to become my healthiest, happiest self, and I am passionate about helping others find their own health and happiness.
My clients often describe me as warm, caring, and challenging. The topics that come up in therapy can be serious, but therapy itself doesn’t have to be serious all the time. I believe in balance, and I believe in the healing power of laughter, humor, and not taking ourselves too seriously.
Oh, and my favorite little therapy dog, Chulita, might show up in our sessions once in a while :)
About Us
Your 20s and 30s can be super weird, stressful, and confusing. Believe me, I know because I’ve been there! There are so many ups and downs, so many life changes coming at you so fast, it can be hard to catch a breath. This is where therapy comes in. In our sessions, we take the time to stop, breathe, and process. We assess what is going on, what needs to change, and create a roadmap to your goals. We take into consideration your past hurts and traumas, and together we create a way for you to move forward. If things feel daunting or hopeless to you right now, hang in there ... we are about to embark on a journey together towards health and peace.
